What is a postpartum doula?
Think of me as a worker bee. I take care of what you want and what you need- so you can take care of what really matters: you and your new baby. As a Postpartum Doula, I am educated and trained in the unpredictable needs of the postpartum mum, partner and baby, as well as the home and siblings (if any). I provide companionship, physical and emotional support, resources and education to assist you and your new family during this unpredictable, beautiful, and often, very challenging, time.
Just what does a doula “dou”?
Dirty diapers? No problem. Piles of unfolded laundry? On it. Need dinner tonight? Let's see what we can whip up! Baby won't stop crying? I'm not a magician, but I will do everything in my power to get him or her- and you- to a much happier place!
Other typical things I do:
Diaper, bathe, comfort and feed your newborn
Offer feeding advice and support- for you and your baby!
Help create and organize systems for baby
Take out the trash and recycling
Entertain and help care for siblings
Wash, fold and put away laundry
Shop for groceries, prep meals, and help with cooking
Clean and organize the home
Run errands
I will be there for you, physically and emotionally, adapting with your ever-changing needs surrounding parenthood and a new baby.
